A NOT A HOTEL, born in a quiet area of Irabu Island. Beyond the refined spaces crafted by architect Keiji Ashizawa, a beautiful infinity pool stretches out, merging seamlessly with the Miyako-blue sea.
POOL
About 30 seconds to the sea. A private pool that melts into the horizon.
An infinity pool roughly 25 meters wide that seems to flow all the way to the sea before you. Take in the clear blue waters known as Miyako blue, and enjoy the private serenity of the beach all to yourself.
SAUNA
An ocean-view sauna where you find balance in the sea breeze.
The poolside terrace also features a sauna and cold bath overlooking the sea. Feel the sea breeze on your skin, surrender to the rhythms of nature, and let the tensions of daily life quietly unwind.
LIVING & DINING
An approximately 125㎡ living and dining space that opens to the sea.
A space arranged with a dining table for ten and a deep, generous sofa connects seamlessly to a kitchen integrated with a teppanyaki counter and a bar counter. Through the horizontally expansive glass, the sea is present from wherever you stand.
BEDROOM
Three bedrooms, each with its own balcony.
One primary bedroom and two guest bedrooms. Every room has a balcony, and the pared-down, minimal furnishings accentuate the beauty of the sea spread out before you.
BATHROOM
Wrapped in stillness, releasing both mind and body.
Two of the three bedrooms feature a private jacuzzi. In a space that frames the scenery like a painting, enjoy a bath time that makes you lose all track of time.
Keiji Ashizawa
Principal of Keiji Ashizawa Design since 2005. Guided by the motto "Honest Design," he works across architecture, interiors, and furniture with a strong emphasis on craft. His projects span architecture and interior work in Japan and abroad, as well as furniture design for makers such as Karimoku and Audo. He also serves as representative of Ishinomaki Laboratory—a furniture brand born from the recovery efforts after the Great East Japan Earthquake, with local partners that manufacture and sell in more than ten countries. Recent works include TRUNK(HOTEL) YOYOGI PARK, BELLUSTAR TOKYO, and A Pan Pacific Hotel. His accolades include the 2021 Monocle Best Restaurant Design Award for Masu Restaurant, and he has served as a juror for Japan's Good Design Award as well as the Dezeen Awards and iF Design Award overseas.
